Regarding the European Super League story: About the ESL itself, I am conflicted. On the one hand, I do understand the appeal behind this. Purely from an economic perspective, the participants stand to earn considerably higher revenues. At the end of the day, these clubs (and any other football clubs) are businesses that are trying to maximise profits and become more competitive. What this means however is that ESL participants will have a substantially larger financial war chest compared to non-participants, which would be incredibly unfair as non-participants will never have the opportunity to access these funds and in all likelihood will be unable to compete when it comes to attracting top talent. This brings me to my second point: players will now potentially have to choose between the ESL and the rest of Europe. Let's not forget that footballers have a short career and I will never begrudge them for wanting to maximise their earnings. This will be even more interesting if the ESL participants get banned from their respective domestic and existing European competitions, as they will be effectively forced to stay with the status quo or join the rebel league. At the end of the day, money talks and change is never without any resistance. It will be interesting to see the fallout from this.

I actually like the idea of a super league but not in the way they want to do it. I feel like it should be split into 3 different leagues. regular / champion / super. Where regular is college and upcoming players who (if good enough) is drafted on to the champion league. Same for the super league. So in the super league you have all the top players against each other. And players could be swapped down leagues if they perform poorly one year too 🤔

I think the sway in opinion on marijuana legalization comes from how much people can actually research into it and learn that it's not a hardcore drug that should be feared like other actually dangerous drugs. I myself was super against it strictly based off of what I'd been taught in school- basically that it was a dirty drug that would make you see Elvis in your fridge! After doing some research though, I learned that all of that was just fear-mongering & that it actually has a lot of benefits & now I myself am- for lack of a better word- a pot head! My parents and I disagree on a lot of things politically but I am very thankful that they are both fully vaccinated and did not show much vaccine hesitancy regardless of them being part of that conservative republican group. I think we’re just waiting on my brother’s second shot now and my niece who will be 16 this summer and our whole family will be vaccinated. Since I’m a teacher and my mom is an aide and have been in person learning all year, we were lucky to get to be in some of the first groups to be vaccinated.

No other major sport needs to deal with this issue, and none of them have had their "spirit of sporting" or "rising and falling on their own sporting merits" ripped out. Finally, people want to see the best play the best. Most people don't care to see Manchester United play Sheffield United and their 26 straight losses this year. The idea of relegation is a pipe dream, and it deserves to fade away.
